The Sustainability Network was contracted by the Walter and Duncan Gordon Foundation to create a Learning Network for the Foundation's Water Fellowship recipients.

In late September 2008, a three-day gathering outside Cobourg, ON, was held, and it provided an opportunity for Fellows (and guests) to learn how public policy is developed and how to influence the process.

In October 2009, the second gathering of the Walter and Duncan Foundation's Fellows and Affiliates was held at the same venue. This gathering focused on Communications and Media.
