Tuesday, December 15th from 1:00-2:00 PM ET

Canada continues to record high rates of forest loss resulting in dramatic declines in biodiversity and worsening impacts of climate change. The federal government’s commitment to plant 2 billion trees (2BT) has tremendous potential to help restore degraded forest ecosystems in rural and urban areas, contributing to achieving Canada’s important biodiversity and climate goals.

In this webinar, Nature Canada’s Reforestation Program team will provide an overview of current information on the federal 2BT initiative, including implications for groups organizing at the municipal and regional level. They will also share initial thoughts on key features to advocate for in municipal forest management plans, create a space to provide feedback on these ideas, and discuss the opportunities and challenges for organizations to become involved in optimizing the 2 Billion Tree initiative.

The recording will be available until February 15, 2021.
